Together Again! On 12th January 2023 the Avon Occupational Safety and Health Group held our annual legal update. In line with popular demand we decided to hold the meeting in person knowing what a difference it makes to share a real physical space with our friends, members and visitors. The session was introduced by Graham Wailes of AOSH. Our two speakers for the event were Richard Voke (Acuity Law) and Phil Newton (Pinsent Mason LLP). Richard gave a detailed overview of a variety of events and prosecution that occurred during the previous year including insights into cases and prosecutions and fines and introduced the Protect Duty to the group. Phil discussed effects of Brexit on UK H&S legislation including the UKCA which will apply to products in place of CE marking, he also gave excellent argument for managing mental health at work and more insight into the Building Safety Act It was great to see so many people at the event, and as usual thank you to our speakers.
